Mondo Guerra Is Matching His Models With His Latest Collection for Fashion Week. He Has

Project Runway, Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn Lifetime

Projection Runway is finally back.

And as usual, we made the mistake of falling in love with the first designer to get home. Sure, Cha Cha'due south "red carpet" wait wasn't one we'd choose to wear on whatsoever colour of rug, but it had a take chances before he added the pink garland...which Tim Gunn had the adventure to discourage, and but didn't accept.

The twist this season is that the models are all different sizes, from ii to 22, and each designer will piece of work with a dissimilar model each calendar week. With that quest for body positivity, Batani saying her goal was to "camouflage" her model'south midsection should take sent her home, forth with the fact that her dress was truly ugly. Cha Cha'due south was fun! Cha Cha himself was fun! Cha Cha didn't deserve to go abode!

Anyway, it wouldn't be a week of Project Runway if we weren't confused and a petty angry at whatever the judges had decided, considering this show is at its best when it'southward teaching us how little we know most mode.

Nosotros're besides confused about how much the judges liked what Brandon showed, which looked kind of similar a mess to united states, and non most as impressed by Deyonte'due south flower dress as we were by Republic of kenya'due south incredible tailoring of that white gown.

Those two are clearly frontrunners already, but we're kind of thinking that if Republic of kenya can pull that kind of fit off in that amount of fourth dimension, she probably has a lot more up her sleeve, also.

Keep on scrolling for a look at anybody who's held the championship of Project Runway winner and so far...

Flavor 1: Jay McCarroll

We'll never forget Jay McCarroll's incredible finale show, with each autumn-themed await color-coordinated to match a pair of headphones. Despite having never won a claiming, he was still a worthy winner.

He started a blog and stayed in the press for a while with a documentary, a feature film and a line sponsored by the Humane Society.

Flavour 2: Chloe Dao

Chloe Dao won an iconic season of Project Runway, upward confronting Santino Rice and Daniel Vosovic, and while a lot of people were rooting for Daniel, you can't argue that Dao didn't deserve the win.

Now, she's yet active, with a website and a boutique in Houston (and a line we're kind of dying over).

Season 3: Jeffrey Sebelia

Not a lot of fans were thrilled when Jeffrey took home the win after spending the whole season as the villain, making moms cry and making u.s.a. question his controlling skills every single time we saw his neck tattoo.

After a couple of failed lines and companies and a stint on Projection Track: All Stars, he now seems to be doing pretty well designing clothes for kids.

Season iv: Christian Siriano

The fiercest of them all. Christian was the obvious winner of flavour iv, and has gone on to have the most success by far. His characterization is especially popular with celebrities (he dresses stars from Taylor Swift to Leslie Jones to Michelle Obama) and he also serves as a gauge on Project Runway Junior and as a mentor for Season 17 of Project Runway.

Chances are even if yous don't know Projection Runway, y'all know the name Christian Siriano.

Season five: Leanne Marshall

Leanne Marshall was known for the feminine waves she loved to incorporate into looks, and her finale show was that to a T.

Now, she puts that signature feminine stamp on all her clothes, but she's more often than not known for her gorgeous wedding ceremony dresses.

Season 6: Irina Shabayeva

Irina Shabayeva's armor-inspired finale drove was truly badass, though she wasn't all that pleasant to watch during her season.

Since and then, she competed on Project Rails: All Stars twice, and at present she's doing lots of collections to benefit charities and is known for her bridal designs, too.

Season 7: Seth Aaron Henderson

Henderson  non just won his season of Projection Runway but besides went on to win flavour iii of Project Rails: All Stars, becoming the get-go designer to win both. He returned to compete on flavour vii of All Stars in 2019 but was the 2d designer eliminated.

The reality star has become known for his sustainable designs equally well every bit creating shoes with 3D printers!

Flavor 8: Gretchen Jones

No joke, we take notwithstanding not forgiven Project Runway for crowning the tedious not bad Gretchen over Mondo Guerra in flavour 8. Mondo did go on to win the first season of All Stars, only nosotros're yet mad.

Every bit of 2016, Gretchen had taken a step back from designing and decided to go back to schoolhouse to go her MBA.

Flavor 9: Anya Ayoung-Chee

Regardless of her (serious) lack of sewing skills, beauty queen Anya was a fan favorite from the beginning, and then it wasn't much of a shock when she took habitation the win. Mayhap not the near fair of decisions by the judges when you lot compare her work to Viktor, Joshua or Kimberly, but the argument kind of comes down to whether you consider Project Runway to be a sewing contest or design contest.

Anyway, Anya is still designing. She has an online store and a lingerie line, and designs for Trinidad's carnival consequence. In 2019, she competed in Season 7 of Projection Rails: All Stars.

Flavour ten: Dmitry Sholokhov

Dmitry Sholokhov won both season 10 of Project Runway and season 4 of All Stars but, to exist honest, nosotros mostly but call back his emphasis, and not his designs.

Now, he'southward clearly doing some very cool stuff, because we want about every design he posts on Instagram. Also, in 2019, he competed onProject Runway: All Stars and was named the Manner Designer Of The Year by Metropolitan Fashion Awards in Los Angeles.

Season 11: Michelle Lesniak Franklin

Franklin has strangely escaped our memory. Her season and her looks just weren't all that memorable to us...which is probably considering that was the first "teams" edition of the series, making it difficult for designers to stand out, or to exist pleasant to watch.

At present, Michelle is still designing, and her clothes can exist found on her website!

Flavor 12: Dom Streater

Streater'south prints were only to dice for, and her final collection was certainly worthy of that win.

Now, she's selling prints of her prints and appears to however be designing. You can buy those prints on her website.

Flavor thirteen: Sean Kelly

Possibly nothing has made u.s. every bit happy equally that fourth dimension Sean created that rainbow dress for the rain rails, which changed from white to total of color as the water hit information technology. We would have given him the win for that look alone. Tim Gunn has even called Sean his favorite contestant, and we go it.

You can find his more contempo stuff on his website.

Season fourteen: Ashley Nell Tipton

Tipton's win was notable because all her models were plus size, and she used the show as a platform to make totally cute, fashionable, wearable clothes for plus size women. JCPenney now sells her clothes and she created a wide-fit jewelry line as well.

Flavour fifteen: Erin Robertson

We cannot tell a lie: Erin should non have won season xv. She shouldn't have even made it to Mode Week, only it was equally if the judges decided she was going to win from the kickoff, regardless of how her looks declined throughout the flavor.

However, based on her Instagram, Erin has been designing some incredibly absurd things that make us a piddling more OK with her win.

Season xvi: Kentaro Kameyama

In a flavor that historic trunk diversity similar never before, Kameyama was crowned the Project Rail winner for the "unexpected emotion" that his collection showed during New York Style Calendar week.

Since and so, the 39-twelvemonth-old was named the Fashion Design Chair at FCI Way School. He showed his piece of work at New York Fashion Calendar week 2019. He also launched The Brothers Project, a line featuring branded street wear. In addition to being a designer, the season xvi winner is besides a classical pianist and composer.

Season 17: Jhoan "Sebastian" Grey

Later on Grey was named the winner of Projection Rails, Nina Garcia called him "the personification of the American dream." Less than a year later, the Colombian-born designer already created a women's wear line that be found on his website.

Projection Runway arrogance Thursdays at viii p.m. on Lifetime.
